Mrs. Missouri Pageant

What are the categories of competition? There are three categories of competition: Interview, Evening Gown, and Swimsuit. The interview is five minutes with each of the five judges and is 50% of the total score. Evening Gown and Swimsuit are 25% each.

Is there an age limit? No. Married women ages 18 and older are encouraged to enter.

Do I need a talent? No.  There is an optional talent competition for those interested.  This portion will be scored by different judges and has no bearing on the winner of the Mrs. Missouri Pageant.  Entry fee is $50.00

Do I need to win a preliminary event before competing at the state level? No. Just send in your application along with your application fee.

I've never done a pageant. Is previous pageant experience necessary? No. In fact, many past winners had never done a pageant before Mrs. Missouri. We are here to help you with every step. Join us and you will have a memorable event to share with your family and friends for a lifetime.

How will I know how to prepare for the pageant? After submitting your application and deposit, you should follow the step by step guide of the Become a Contestant page. We also encourage you to read the Mrs. Missouri Handbook. Most questions can be answered with the information provided here on our website but feel free to contact us at any time. The directors will work with you each step of the way to ensure that you know exactly how to prepare. There is also a contestant workshop prior to the pageant. You'll meet the other delegates, begin rehearsals, learn everything you need to know to feel your best at the pageant and have a lot of fun!

Is there an entry fee? Yes. Entry fee is $550.00 and includes:

  • Local crown & sash

  • Opening number outfit

  • Competition swimsuit

  • Pre-pageant workshop

  • Meals & events during pageant weekend

  • Crowning celebration party

  • Awards Breakfast

What other costs are involved?

  • You will need an evening gown and interview suit of your choice.

  • You will need to supply 5 color 5 x 7 head shots for the judges.

  • Contestants are required to sell one ad page and 10 tickets to the pageant.

Can I raise money through sponsors? Yes! If you get started early you can get most of your expenses covered by sponsors.

What is the platform? This is an issue or charity about which you feel passionate. It is what you will promote should you be chosen as the next Mrs. Missouri. Please read the personal story of Mrs. Missouri 2009.

What is involved in pageant weekend? Delegates arrive on Thursday evening for the welcome dinner and stay until the awards breakfast Sunday morning. The days are fun-filled with rehearsal, interviews, preliminaries, an event in Branson and autograph session, finals, crowing the new winner and an awards breakfast. It is a weekend full of memories you'll treasure for a lifetime.

Will I stay with my family during the pageant? During the workshop you will stay with another contestant. During the pageant, you may stay with your family.

After winning, what does Mrs. Missouri do? Mrs. Missouri spends her year promoting her platform and making appearances at community events throughout the state. We have the Mrs. Missouri America Blog where you can explore the event of all our past and present Mrs. Missouri Queens.

When is the Mrs. America Pageant? Generally it takes place the beginning of September. Contestants are at the national pageant for 8 days.

Will I stay with my family at the pageant? Yes.  This is a fun filled family weekend.  Branson has much to offer children of all ages and some families choose to make this a week long vacation.  There are many activities to keep your family occupied while you are in rehearsals and you will love having the support of your own cheering section at the pageant final.
